How many Old Goats does it take. . .

. . .to change light bulbs that have given up the ghost in the bathroom of our 1996 40 ft U320?  I took the slotted cover off of one of the floor lights, and the entire fixture came out attached to the two wires.  However, the bulb is too far in the fixture to unscrew; and the bulb appears to be part of the fixture.  The bulb base has wires attached and will turn, but won't push either way to remove it.  Anyone know how to go about changing this bulb?

Just one:

1.  Yank wires off old fixture and place it on the floor
2.  Stomp it into powder to relieve frustration
3.  Install really cool looking 12-volt outdoor light from Lowe's
4.  Open beer for relaxing the back from bending over for so long

               Matt ; It sounds like you and I have been to the same school for caoch repair . Maybe we need to start a club. There is bound to be more of us from the same school .

@ Brad:  I have learned greater discipline through my years.  I was once really awful, but I have learned to avoid spitefully abusing the expensive parts.

Thanks for the advice so far. . .I was hoping to keep the original fixture; but just might have to resort to oldMattB's YSIO method.  Anyone else got any solutions that might use the original fixture?

I dealt with a "floor" fixture in our coach.  My best memory was the translucent cover snapped off.  Underneath, two plastic clips held the socket.  A gentle twist of the bulb released the bulb and the socket from the base.  Then the bulb pulled out easily from the socket.  The trick was the clips on the base held the bulb and socket, so the bulb could not be removed from the socket until the socket and bulb, as a unit, were removed from the base.

This is from memory from a year ago.  Hope it helps.
