LED puck lights

This is an update to a posting from many months ago.  My 06 Phenix has 53 puck lights as its main source of lighting.  Last May I purchased all of the LED lights FOT had at the time in order to change them out.  Had enough to do all but the bedroom.  In late May I began changing them out and found it difficult to get many of the covers off but through the helpful suggestions of some on this forum I succeeded.  In November I was able to acquire the remaining lights for the bedroom.  I finally got around to changing them today.  What I discovered and now wish to share with all of you is that they are alot easier to change in the winter.  Not one of the covers was difficult to get off.  The explanation must have to do with thermal dynamics or so my engineer son would say.  Of course in May in south Louisiana it is hot and each cover was stuck to the vinyl ceiling whereas in January it is not hot and each came off without any effort.  On another note, when I removed all of the halogen bulbs, I was careful to use a rubber glove and not contaminate the bulbs, so I have a bag full of slightly used to very used bulbs if anyone is interested in them.

Would you please post the specs for the LED lights that you purchased? [Description, lumens [i.e. Warm white LED (2700K)]

I replaced two of mine  with LED bulbs to try them out. I had to place tape on the back to keep them from shorting out. But so far so good. I think they where about 18.00 at lazy days. Easier than changing the light fixture. I got bright white but I think I will use the off white when I do the others.

Are these puck lights using the MR16 bulbs?  If so, I have a source for an excellent LED replacement.

Our puck lights are 2-pin G4 base, originally 10W halogen IIRC.  Probably T3 bulb shape.

The LEDs I used are G4 10SMD warm white 30-vdc and they are great.  Plenty of light and no more excessive heat.  As for those who have asked for my used halogens, I have received too many requests for them to make it practical.  I would have to mail everyone 4 bulbs and I do not wish to have 10 packages going out.  I will try to figure out what to do but may just wait until next trip to FOT and hand them out.

30VDC? Aren't those fixtures 12v?

Likely means the bulbs are designed to operate across the range of 8-30 VDC and have constant current circuitry, which is desirable in our applications.  A straight (cheap) 12 VDC LED will have a dramatically shorter life in an RV.
