MANABLOC Replacement

After  15 years of service our MANABLOC assembly started leaking. The manufacturer does not recommend disassembling the unit as all of the rods are tensioned to a specific torque. After removal  I could see that the plastic was cracked in several  locations and one of the outlet adapters were starting to fail.
The original 12 port unit was not readily available and was significantly higher in price, when I found one. I went with a 14 port ½" compression connection model. The supply/outlet adapters, supplied with the unit, are all brass and "O"ring sealed. They are a considerable improvement over the original factory installation. The new unit was about 1" longer body wise, but actually shorter overall with the brass adapters.  All of the ½" Pex connections were crimped.
The blue hose in the picture is the potable water overflow.

Is that blue hose that goes down through the floor your re-located fresh water tank overflow?

Re-routing overflow water off the rear bulkhead is always a good idea.

We took advantage of four open ports on our Manabloc.

We have a propane hot water tank and changeed the in & out water lines so we can easily bypass the tank and seal it off in case of a leak.

Input to hot water tank comes from a cold-side Manabloc tap.  Output from hot water tank goes to a hot-side tap.  And another hot-side tap is directly connected to a cold-side tap.

Turn off in & out tap valves to isolate hot water tank.  Open the directly connected tap valves to bypass the hot water tank for winterizing or for any other reason.
