Bose Electrical Draw

I was in the back of the coach and heard a humming sound. I figured it was the ATS but it was actually coming from the Bose speakers. I was thinking this was strange because I was certain the head unit was off. I checked and, sure enough, the unit was turned off. I moved the Bose power plug to a power strip that includes the TV stuff. Now, with the inverter on, I can avoid this unnecessary current draw by flicking the power strip switch. Seems strange that the speakers are powered with the head unit off though.

Interesting.  I assume that you verified the rear speakers were indeed off after moving the main unit cord?

Wonder if it is inductive current causing the speaker activation.

Did you check the amp draw on the Bose unit with it plugged in but not turned on?

Harvey, yea, when I turn off the power strip, the speakers are off.
Brett, haven't checked that but I will.

We once had an audio hum that went away when we changed a grounded power plug to non-grounded.
