Our rugss don't move anymore

After trying many things to keep our rugs from walking on our carpet, we found something that works.

Snaps are doing the job.  We screw the male part to the floor and make a small hole in the rug to crimp the flat top part of the snap.  A little paint will hide the round metal that shows above the rug.

No more anti-skid, chair mats and bending over to put them back in their place.

I'll have to look for them. Nothing has worked for us and the darned things move all over. Thanks for the tip.

Good idea! We tried the spherical "tacks" (screws into the carpet below) without much success. I've recently put several short strips of male Velcro on the bottom corners of the throw-rug, and it hasn't moved. Easy to remove for vacuuming, but stays-put otherwise.

We simply used 1" staples with our pneumatic air nailer. Those rugs never move until you pry them up. There is just a small dimple in the rug where the staple was used. I do like the idea of the Velcro hooks though. I will try them next time.

Keith... yes but after Kent's remarks about stapling them down my thoughts are wandering in that direction. I'm a big fan of using an air gun whenever possible and I have a nice assortment (thanks to Harbor Freight) just sitting around not doing anything........
