Thetford

We have the large Thetford sewer connector and cannot find an adapter that fits the smaller connectors.  Anyone know where or how to change to standard.  We have a 93 Unihome.  Thanks for any help. :)

Sissy, have the Thetford fitting cut off and replace it with a Valterra fitting # T1029-2, this will give you a connection that you can buy replacement hose and couplings for.

The adapters work but they break easily and the leak frequently. Cut it off and put on a new one. While you are at it, install a third Valtera gate valve just before the Valtera bayonet connector. The third valve is the best addition I have made to both of my coaches.

Details on adding the third valve are available in the archives.

I have the adaptor. It has never broken or leaked.

You can save some room by assembling the third dump valve from three Valterra parts: (1)the bladex body portion of the valve that comes with nuts, bolts, and seals; (2) the female flange that fits over the discharge pipe; and (3) the bayonet flange that the discharge hose (or cap when not in use) is attached to. The two flanges bolt to the bladex body and the female end is then glued to the discharge pipe. Of course you will need a new cap to fit the Valterra bayonet.

I have attached a picture showing the assembly with a 45 clear adapter attached to the bayonet fitting.
