I live in Ozark, Mo. 35 miles north of Branson.  We have not been to the shows in a long time.  But, I if were going I would be sure to see the Shoji Tabuchi Show, Jim Stafford Show and the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Show.

Was there a couple of years ago and 2nd the Shoji show.  If you have never seen an oriental circus show than the Shanghai Circus is not bad.

We were there a couple of years ago. Liked the Irish Tenors and the trout fishing was great in the river right down town. Can't remember the name of the guide though. We stayed at Cooper Creek RV Resort which was very satisfactory.

Mickey Gillie was great. The Platters have really deteriorated to the point where they try to make up for talent by radically increasing the volume.
We found the Shepherd of The Hills really bad. Most of the people at the floor show ate hardly any of their "chuckwagon style" food. It was pretty indigestable. They take your picture before going down to the main show. Less than 10 minutes into the show they stop, run out with all kinds of junk to sell and try to get you to buy your "one of a kind" souvenir picture for an exorbitant price. Definitely not worth $65.00 a head admission!!!

Just got back from "Red, Hot and Blue " Show.  It was a great show.  Maybe because it was at 2 pm there was not very many people there and with the traffic bumper to bumper there is a lot of people here. Tonite is the old standby "Dixie Stampede" it is sold out.  Tomorrow Branson Belle and "The Haygoods" Thursday is Red Skelton and Pierce Arrow.  The KOA is a clean park and the staff is very helpful.  Got our tickets and info at the  "Branson Tourism Center"  Best place for info and tickets.  DAN

We went to see SIX today in Branson, and really enjoyed the show. This was actually a combined Mother's/Father's Day treat from our daughter. She works at the Lodge of the Ozarks, so she gets discounts on some shows. She treated us to lunch at the restaurant in the Lodge (WOW!) and then the show. One interesting detail is that they record every show, so you can pay for the dvd at intermission, and about five minutes or so after the show is over they are handing out the DVDs.

Peggy and I enjoyed the Butterfly Habitat ... the Tenors were OK ... but I would rather have a root canal than go back to Branson.  Sorry.

I resemble that remark! Although I don't have a motor home (yet) I am the oldest full-time teacher in our public school district and I still have three years to go until retirement. Branson is only about 1 1/2 hours away from us, but we didn't really get down there much until after the kids were out of high school and in college.

BTW, for those who are interested, if you plan on going to Silver Dollar City more than once in a year get the season pass. You will save money. The season pass is cheaper than two days at regular prices, and you get a discount at the food places. SDC is quite hilly, so if you have troubles walking up and down hills you may want to rent a scooter. Of course, there is some sort of shop every few feet, so frequent rests are possible, and there are lots of convenient little places to sit for a few minutes. Of course, those little shops have lots of nice things in them that are for sale. We always spend some time at the glass blower's place, and for a while most of the wedding gifts we gave came from there.

For all u critics out there, Branson is a good retreat but you have to enjoy seeing a show in the A/C.  Its not cheap anymore so if you come bring your gold. You also need to enjoy heavy traffic. Endurance may be a good word along with relaxing. I think when said and done I enjoyed Nashville and Dollywood better. You get a lot of chicken at the Dixie Stampede and the
preshow was great.  John H--Sorry no CC.    DAN

As I mentioned, we're only 90 minutes north of Branson. If anyone wants to stop in on the way please do so. If you would like us to come down and visit that can be arranged, too. Not much that is scheduled until I go back to work at the end of July.

We got to Branson on Monday. We are on a site at the KOA with level concrete runners.  Did not turn on the HWH level system.  The aux compressor has not come on since we have been here.  This would indicate to me the air leaks are in the HWH system.  If I turn on the system I bet the compressor will come on about every 6 hours and run for about 5 minutes.

Today is the last day in Branson.  Best Show by far  "Pierce Arrow"  All around entertaining show.
Second best Branson Belle Showboat. Red Hot and Blue was good.  If you like Red Skelton, you should enjoy this one.
The Haygoods was for young people which is not me.  Talented group, wrong songs.
Also the aux compressor came on one time  the four days we were here but the HWH is not on.  I like the KOA better than ABC campground. Also free pancakes every morning.    Dan
