Bad business alert.

Ok. So I take my hydraulic pump to Aire Hydraulics in Las Cruces New Mexico cuz the oil seal is leaking. For 24.50, they tell me, we'll inspect it to see if all it needs is a seal or rebuild. They had it for 2 weeks and when I called them I was told it did not need a rebuild but he put in a new seal.

I haul it home and when I looked at it the first thing I noticed was that the bolts had not been touched to open it up. I put it back on (no easy feat) and it still leaked oil even when not running. I called Aire Hydraulics and told them that and he tried to sell me a new pump.

Called Mike Grimes, he said don't mess with Haldex Barnes, they are not rebuildable and the new seal won't last. So I bought the new one at Foretravel for peace of mind.

Out $75 to Aire Hydraulics. Oh yeah.....when I pulled the pump back off again, I looked at the seal and it had not been touched. I am putting them in the "crook" file.

I would post a review on <http://rvservicereviews.com/Index.asp>; for other folks to look at and beware. It is for all types of repair and maintenance related o anything an RV might need ... engine or otherwise.  Writing a letter to the owner/operator might get your $75 back, too!!
