Window repairs at Suncoast Designer

We recently had three windows done at Suncoast Designer in Hudson FL.  The kitchen, livingroom and bedroom passenger side windows had snaking of the inner seal and looked very unsightly.  Overall, they did a good job with the exception of some small marks between the glass and a small glass scratch.  The manager was very pleasant to work with and knocked $200.00 off the price.
One thing we did differently was to apply "clean seal" to the window frames prior to installation.  Suncoast doesn't use buytl tape but instead applies silicone to the outside edge of the window frame after installation.  We purchased the clean seal tape from Xtreme in advance and applied it my self.  Now I won't have to clean the putty around those windows anymore!!

Hello Bob and Faith, Could you explain the tape for the windows?  I'm going to try to clean up the putty around my windows this weekend, but any help is appreciated.

Ron, the tape they speak of goes between the frame and the wall of the coach to make a seal so you do not use and caulk or? to make the seal. It is a  rubber  strip that gets compressed to make seal. I saw it at Xtreme and was going to get some but I did not like the fact it actually made the frames stand proud of the fibreglass wall of coach about 1/16th inch.

Hi Ron,

Putty cleanup can be done with WD-40, a plastic scraper and cloths.

The tape is self stick to the inside of the window frame.  Unfortunately this must be done when the windows are out.  We also changed the mounting screws to enable better compression of the gasket to the fiberglass wall. The OEM screws were difficult to remove in some areas and some broke upon removal.  The windows do not stand out any further from the wall than with the original putty sealant.  We did this 6 months ago and have not had any problems with leaks.

This spring I sent the door window of our 295 to the rv fog doctor in Arkansas for repairs. They did a good job,the window looks like new. They included the D shaped replacement seal in the cost of repairs. When I installed the window I used a cross hatch pattern and went around the frame 5-6 times. The frame is now all but flush with the door skin. WD-40 , plastic scraper , and for me paper towel is fast and easy for putty cleanup on the rest of the windows.Gam

Motion Windows / aka Peninsula Window (Motion Windows | Perfect Choice) also repairs windows reusing original frames but installs new dual pane glass with or without tint.

We stopped at their factory this year and found their operation first class.
