Engine Coolant Leak at the Aquahot and a work around

Well, on my cross country trip, I developed a slow coolant leak that got a bit bigger during the trip.  I located it to be in the aquahot. It was leaking engine coolant used for the Motorassist portion so I called Rudy.  He asked me to track down where the leak was from to determine the proper course of action and that will be another post as this one is how to keep traveling.  I used a nipple to nipple connector and put the supply and return lines together and bypassed the Aquahot all together. The elbows on these older units are starting to leak due to vibration and wear.  So rather than be stuck on the road you can connect the two lines and bypass it and continue till you get where you are going. The Aquahot will still work and you will have to fire it to get things warm in the winter as the engine heat will not help but you can use it and travel to a place to have it looked at or fixed.
