Powertech issue

Just wanted to give those with a Powertech a heads up on a problem I had and the solution.  First off I have a 12kw powertech cat(perkins) in my 06 Phenix.  Two years ago while tailgating at a LSU game my genny kept running but stopped making juice.  Tried to diagnose it and get back up and running but got way too many opinions on what it might be so Foretravel got it and it turned out to be a burnt wire connection at one of the two 50 amp breakers on the front of the unit.  Foretravel repaired and no problem.  This past weekend while at LSU game again I has it happen again.  I was able to get a mobile repair guy out and I told him about the problem two years ago so he accessed the panel behind the breakers and you guessed it, the wire connection at the other 50 amp breaker had burnt.  He showed me the repair made by froetravel and pointed out that the reason both had happened was due to the wire being just long enough to rech the breaker so it was under a bind and subject to vibration while the unit was running and while going down the road and this caused the connection to work loose and arc and burn.  He pointed out that foretravel realized this when they corrected the first on and added some wire to make a loop to take off the tension.  Unfortunately they did not do it to the other breaker connection which sits one inch away but the mobile guy did and I was back up and running for $150.00.  By the way if you are in the Baton Rouge/South Louisiana area and need a repair guy his name is Joe Zachary and his number is 225938-4235.  Just wanted others to know if they have a similar setup.

Thanks for the heads up. Good to know of a tech in the BR area. What other services does he provide or specialize in? And, I am out at LSU with my coach for a couple of games this year too in TD Village. Maybe look you up next game. What area you in?

Gerard,
Great post, and thanks for posting the serviceman's info. Glad you did not have a fire like the simple doorbell issue.

brrving, we are acroos from the vet school for all the games ussually parked up against River Road.  Come by.  The mobile tech does everything.  He told me that Tiffin has him authorized to do mobile warranty work for them.  I know he also took care of an A/C problem for the guy next to me and he was reasonable.
