Roland's exhaust brake foot switch (was Re: What did you do to your coach today)

The switch on the fuel pump for the Extrador exhaust brake was missing. Apparently a PO removed it. I was quoted over a $150 to replace the switch. I did not like the idea of having that switch in the open at the rear of the coach. I would not know if it failed or got out of adjutment and failure of the switch can wreak havoc with the head and turbo. My solution, install a foot switch by the driver's left foot. With the panel switch for the exhaust brake switched on, depressing the foot switch activates the exhaust brake, releasing the foot switch deactivates the exhaust brake. No danger of pressing the accelerator with the exhaust brake in the on position.

I went ahead and ordered the light duty 'maintained' version for my Jake. I will wire it in series with the on switch. Since my jake is wired 'all on' verses 'hi-lo' this will be a breeze and make driving far safer. I will be able to keep the two jake switches 'on' and no longer have to search for them to use the jake. Just tap the foot switch once to turn it on, and once more to turn it off. Almost ordered the momentary, then decided I didn't want to operate it like a sewing machine...

        Do you have a part number for that switch? I might go for that too. As far as finding the Jake switch on the panel I added a small post onto the switch so that I can locate it quickly among the other switches.

The light duty switch is one third to one quarter the price of the medium duty switch... Since all we are controlling is a 12V low amp control circuit, the light duty is even overkill.
