Towing a LandCruiser

Does anyone have experience towing a Toyota Landcruiser? I have a 1991 and want to use it as my Toad.. Could it really be as simple as putting the transfer case in neutrel and off I go? I understand the tow bar, lights and maybe brake things I will have to do but am not sure about automatic transmission pumps and such. Great old beater vehicle would be perfect if all I needed was the tow gear. Thanks!

Andyr,

The old school thought of towing vehicle with manual shift tranfer case and manual locking hubs is to lock front hubs,  put tranfer case in neutral and put trans in park(if auto)or put in gear(if manual).  The philosophy of locking hubs is that the tranfer case gets better oil circulation with both driveshafts turning.  Towed an old Wagoneer like this lots of miles.

As always thanks for your wisdom.. Not sure what"karma" means here. Can't be good to be -1! Was it something I said?

andyr,
Dont worry about it, it is a non issue, I would chalk it up to bugs in the computer box.
