Propane tank fill valve

Here is my new problem. I called the propane company to fill the 100 gallon propane tank in my 1989 Foretravel. It would not fill. They surmised that the quick fill valve was bad. Ok. So they took the part number off the old one. RegO 7547B.They came back three times over 3 weeks with the wrong part and gave up. Duh? Really? I found a RegO 7547B in 10. Here is where I am confused. Where the fill valve screws into is an aluminum plate bolted to the tank. This plate then has a snout with a float on it that goes into the tank to prevent overfill. It is marked, Brown Mfg. Corp. Triple L. Automotive LPG Control Valve 703L. It seems to be inoperable and they are using the RegO 7547B valve to do the same thing. My question for all the gurus out there is: Does the RegO 7547B valve truly replace the aluminum plate float mechanism (apfm)? If so, do you know where I can buy just the plate to replace the apfm? If not, does anyone know where I can buy the whole apfm? I already ordered the RegO 7547B because the propane company used a pipe wrench on the threads. Really? I will attach some pictures.

Curtis, have you talked to Mike in Parts at the factory.  On a 1988 that I had they replace a leaking fill valve for me.  He may know there to get the item you need.

Curtis, now that the tank is empty replace the POL Valve, that's the outlet valve, the one coming out will be a excess flow valve with a saucer like disk that slams shut in the event of a broken pipe.  I opted not to replace with a similar one, instead used a excess flow device in the POL{PrestoLight} threads. Also replace the 20% liquid valve, the rubber disk cracks and leaks just enough so you can smell it.  The fast fill valve problem is a new one on me

Thanks gang! That is what I will be doing first thing Monday morning. In talking with another person on the net, he is going to call the manufacturer tomorrow and see about the parts I need. Thanks a million. I knew I could count on you folks.

Heads Up about any valve on any Propane Tank, "It's either full off or full on, no in between"

I learned that. I used the tank with no problems, then when I went to fill it for this winter. Dead. Thanks for the heads up.
