Splendide 2000 Dryer fan motor

My fan motor died and per Splendide the motor is no longer available and had no suggestions besides hitting ebay to look for one. Looks like I'll be sporting a new Splendide in the near future but before I do that I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has solved this problem before or if anyone has any ideas.

This is the original Splendide manufactured between 1984 & 1996. The tech said it was easily identifiable by the red indicator light on the front about the size of a nickel.

Also does anyone know if the vent on the new Splendide is in the same location as the old one? I'm hoping it is. I'd really rather not have to customize the vent outlet. :(

thanks!

I would suggest that you take the old motor to an commercial electrical supplier or a Grainger location and ask them to match one up.  There is almost always something out there and a good parts person will, if available, find it.  Take the actual motor not just the part #'s.

MOT replaced our 2000 model year Splendide with the current model, vent not a problem. Big upgrade per DW and Mom. Bought from CW as they were cheapest, had shipped free to MOT

We also upgraded from the 2000s to the 2100XC.  No issues with vent placement (it uses flex ducting), BIG upgrade in terms of capacity and it uses much less water than the original.

Have to give props to Gary for going above and beyond to try and help me. Unfortunately it didn't work out.

Keith good suggestion I may have to try that.

Six months later and I finally pulled the trigger on a new 2100xc from Camping World. Internet only sale for "only" $1099. Called the store and they had it for $1079! Bargain! :)

Pretty much a direct drop in. For some reason the factory unit was not exactly lined up with the opening. About an inch to the right. When I pulled the old unit it was quite a struggle with a lot of bad words uttered. Before the install I pulled the 1.5x1.5 cleats from the floor and repositioned so that the unit exactly lines up with the door. Made the install so much easier. I also took the advise of someone on the forum to remove the cover from the unit and take out the cement block counter balance from the unit before the install. Made it much easier to manhandle the unit around. Was able to lift the unit up into the coach with only a little guidance from the DW.

The new unit is soooo much better than the 20 year old unit it replaced. They made a few advancements since 1992! DW is very happy. :)

Confirms the ol saying "if the DW ain't happy no one is happy".  LOL. We have been debating on a new purchase a new unit.  This forum can be costly at times :o  Thanks for the info, David

My DW and Mom both love the upgraded Splendide from the original, put it in about 15 months age, all good
