Lens Cover for the Engine Compartment Lamp

Is FOT the best source to find a replacement Lens Cover for the light in the Engine compartment?

Is there anywhere else anyone has been able to find them?

Is it like the one below?  Obtainable from Camping World and many others.  If not can you post a pic?

Unfortunately, I'm not at home to get a pic, but it's rectangular in shape.

It is maybe a foot long and 3" wide, convex shaped, opaque.

On the 2003 295, if you are looking in the engine compartment, it is up to the left and comes on automatically when you open the compartment door.

If it's made by Thinlite, go to their web site. Should be able to help you.

It sounds like thinlite, but you may have to drop the light and get the number off the back.  I called and sent pics and they still couldn't identify mine.  SO don't be surprised if you have to take it loose and get the number off the back.

Why do so many guys try so hard to find other sources when it's so easy to get our parts from FT?  If they don't have the part, they always have the part number.

$$$$$$$ that's why. Shopping for another source decreases the price, usually over 50%. My Experience.

fwiw, you might consider a waterproof led type light (white boat or marine light) and replace the light fixture.  These usually are not that expensive and probably would never have it burn out nor have to deal with it ever again.  Another benefit would be if it were left on by a malfunctioning switch...not a lot of battery drain.  Just my 2 cents.

I was finally able to get a couple of pics.  I've gone through all the models on Thin-Lite but can't figure out which lens I need.  Makes it tough to figure out if I can even find it locally.  18" x 3".

Would be nice to avoid shipping from FOT since I just got a bunch of stuff from them.  But this isn't urgent, so it can wait until my next purchase.

I do like the idea of going to an LED setup for this, and maybe it would avoid the same problem from happening again.  This lens was warped from heat.  So a lower profile fixture may make more sense.

I would not bother trying to find a replacement light.  I would go with a LED or just any 12V light, preferably one that was more weather/waterproof than the original that appears to be a fluorescent.
