Dometic Thermostat Issue

Our daughter is using the coach for a few days about four hours from here while on a temporary assignment for her employer.  I took it up and left everything running.

She called later to say the rear air wasn't working and didn't show up on the thermostat.  I gave her the reset instructions for the 5 button thermostat and she also found the rear AC breaker was tripped.  After resetting it all seemed fine.  She came back that night and zone 2 didn't show up on the thermostat even though both units were cooling.

While ago she texted me that tonight when she returned it was 85 in the coach and the rear air wasn't working.  The breaker was fine. She reset the thermostat and set the rear air like she wanted it.  Both zones are now cooling, but zone 2 has disappeared from the screen again.

There may have been previous posts on this but I couldn't find one.  She is done with the coach Friday and we plan to use for this weekend.  We can't stay in it without both AC units.

I don't know if I should get a replacement part before going up there or where to look for a bad connection.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks

Rick,

Please share the reset instructions.

BTW, mine does not have a zone 2; it appears to be zones 1 and 3. Does that make any sense? Zone 1 is the front and works great except extremely LOUD. The bedroom does not come on and I assume it is zone 3. Will check for the circuit breaker and follow your reset instructions.

Thanks,

Take a good fan with you and blow the cold air thru coach. Much more healthy than air/con.

It was 102F today in Houston with a heat index of around 114F.  I will stick with air conditioning.

Since both roof air conditioners blow into a common duct, we usually find running just one a/c at a time in the other end of the RV is all we need. Not too noisy that way.  It might help that the Foretravel is well insulated and ours is a light color.

We have to run both roof airs when it is very hot out, just to keep up. In fact most of the time both are running when it is not real hot, with the rear usually cooling and turning off before front.

One unit got it down to 85. Blowing that "cold" air through the coach wouldn't quote cut it for us. I cleaned the coils about a month ago so that's all it's going to do. Our 320 is basically the same color as yours Tom.  It supposed to be 100 here today and as you know that is measured in the shade. The coach will be in the sun.

Trent, I came pretty close to your place taking the coach up 44 then 75 to Dewey where it is now. It must have caught something from yours as I passed.  Here are the reset instructions.

To reset the Dometic 5-button thermostat:

Turn the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.

Simultaneously depress and hold the MODE and ZONE

push-buttons and turn the ON?OFF switch to "ON".

"FF" should appear in the LCD display until the

MODE and ZONE push-buttons are released.

If you can keep the air moving, it will feel quite a bit cooler.  We have a ceiling fan over the bed and a small box fan for the front room.

Thanks, Rick. Does the "FF" have any meaning other than to let you know that you properly reset it?

Here is everything I know about this thermostat, thanks to Barry.

Duo Therm 5 Button 3109228.001 Troubleshooting

Daughter said the AC is now working fine but the thermostat is intermittent.  I suppose it must be a loose connection somewhere.

I look forward to meeting you and seeing your coach someday soon.
