Yards of upholstery for J lounge recover

I have a standard size J lounge with the scissor bed in the '95 that is going threadbare. We are going to Calico corner tomorrow to find a nice damask upholstery and get it recovered. I already have it ready to come out! Anyone know how many yards I will need? I'm figureing between 7 and 10... The original fabric held up well...

Ok - the answer is.... 16 yards. Calico Corner and Joanns were both too high. We ordered this medium weight sateen https://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=ca127606-5113-30e6-e043-2a59000a2831 and with discounts the price was under 100.00 AND free shipping.

Dave, did you get enough to redo the window treatment?

The tonal range is close enough for now. Starr will pick out a contrast and we will do those in the future.

I was wondering about the original estimate of 7 to 10 yds. We just ordered 8 yards of new Ultra Suede for the original Grande Villa recliner we found in Frostproof, FL last week. We loved the one in our U225. They look so much smaller than a residential recliner but it fits me perfectly. This one needs quite a bit of work, new cushion and stuffing but we think we found the right guy in Jacksonville.  I am really excited about getting that nifty little pop up relciner under my fanny.

Are you going to do the work on your couch yourself?

Nope. We have two possible upholsterers.
