Ramco Mirror.

I have a local shop that does fantastic metal polishing, mainly on motorcycles.  I have contemplated having him polish my dull aluminum mirrors ... but.. How do you remove them ?
I know that there is a mass of wires that are attached to the mirror motors and heaters.  Is there a connector that you can take apart when mirrors are removed from body ?  I would hate to have to cut and splice all those wires.
Thanks
Gary B

I just scanned some of my documents last weekend. One of them was the schematic for the Ramcos. It shows what look like connectors in the wiring. This for my 92' so your milage may vary.

Gary,

Xtreme cut and spliced mine in the past when they removed the mirrors.

I just had my mirrors polished on the coach.  And I have polished them on the coach in the past.

Look really good when polished.

I had my driverside mirror chopped off the motorhome on the fifth of march.  Ramco sent full replacement parts including harness attached on mirror side.  It took only about a half hour to reattach and terminate ends of harness.  On my coach as you step up front entry at stair well is all the 12v circut breakers. Among these wires were the harness attachments.  I just snapped the old connection apart and connected the new ends.  The only wires that I had to splice together were the turn signal black and white wires. In my case I had two sets because of type of miror, I took both and just connected white to white and black to black.  It worked.  Your coaches should be just as easy.

A couple of years ago I was going to have mine polished or chromed........rather than do that, Biscuit at FT painted them white to match my coach.....came out great and won't have to keep them shined any longer.

Our Ramco mirrors have a rectangular access hole in the bottom the arm where wires can be cut and later spliced. This works if you are leaving the base attached.

If removing the base too, our wires can be accessed from inside the front cap, where we cut and spliced them back.

We did not originally have a plug, but when we installed new mirrors last year we added a plug in the access hole.
