FT model hierarchy

I know that the IH-45 is at the top of the model hierarchy for the later years (2006-2013), but how do the Nimbus and Phenix relate to each other? Is one more feature-rich than the other?

The Phenix has more stuff & better quality materials than the Nimbus. The IH45 has only been in existence since 2010 (I believe).

In 2006, Phenix was a new model.  Nimbus was a essentially a rebadged U-series with an entirely new model  released in 2007.

IH-45 came out in 2012, I believe.

Hierarchy goes Nimbus - Phenix - IH-45.  Nimbus and Phenix are awfully close (to me).  I wouldn't choose one over the other, but look at both.  Newer Foretravels are like snowflakes - all are unique but beautiful.

2007 'Travelride' chassis Nimbus/Phenix was a dramatic improvement, design finally upgraded for multiple slides. Huck bolts used to tie suspension groups together.

Phenix gave you increased height and the ISX engine, effectively creating the equivalent of a 320 class and a 295 class for the Nimbus with the 'little' ISM. Phenix would also be available in a 45 length. 08 (I think) IFS became standard on the Phenix. The next year it became optional on the Nimbus (CE model). then standard in '10 or '11.

IH45 is the "Prevost class" Foretravel.

I would be quite happy with a 42 foot IFS Nimbus with Active Air and a Silverleaf dash...

ANother major difference between the Nimbus and Phenix, is engine horsepower, Phenix gets the max engine and Nimbus gets the less horsepower, while still enough, not the mountain charger that makes one smile.  As the  coaches gain weight, horsepower comes up front in desireability to me. ;D

So it's my guess that IFS was not even an option on the Nimbus before '09. It seems in some ways, FT lagged behind other mfgrs until recently. I guess they had some lean years too.
