Motorhome Magazine 4 page spread on the IH 45

Howdy!

Got our MotorHome magazine yesterday and discovered a Foretravel IH 45 on the cover.

But wait, there's more . . .

It has a four-page spread and review of the Foretravel IH 45 (pages 46-49).

Enjoy!

Just got done reading the article.  I am still trying to comprehend the statement - "the company's first completely redesigned coach in 25 years"???  Nothing happened in 1995???  The Unicoach doesn't count?  Nothing has been redesigned since 1988?

Magazine wise, I prefer Family Motor Coaching!

I'm guessing it's the April 2013 issue?  We just got our March issue and the feature is a Winnebago.

Michelle,

Yes, April 2013; sorry I did not mention in it in my initial posting.

Foretravel has the inside back cover ad and Newell has the back cover.

I hate to seem disloyal but somehow the new IH 45 just doesn't seem to be a Foretravel to me. I read about it and think "Prevost". Maybe it's sour grapes but I don't think so because I really don't want one even if I could afford one True, all the other brands are following the same trends. It makes me sad

Horace, it is funny that the Prevost guys are starting to look more like our older FTs than they did before.  I think everything goes in cycles.

Horace,
Of the 35 or so coaches in this year's RiverBend RV show, many pointed to the $1.7M Newell as their "over-the-top", most ostentatious favorite, but the crowds flocked to the IH45 as their "most realistic", homey, comfortable, liveable, high quality coach.  At $1.2M MSRP, I don't have to worry about whether it looks like My FT, or not.  I personally haven't changed as rapidly as the FT designs have, but that's most likely my problem, not FT's.  This coach may have sold at the RiverBend Show.
The attached photo album (Moderator HELP:  I can't figure out how to attach or link my album to this post - thanks)   doesn't do the coach justice, especially the porcelain tile, radiant heated floors that are drop-dead, breathtaking gorgeous.

The IH's I've seen (which are only a couple in person) aren't my taste, either.  They're too tall for where we travel anyway.  I have, however, seen a couple of Nimbuses (Nimbii?) that were the understated, elegant-yet-practical feeling that I prefer.  When the times comes for our next coach, I hope someone with our more reserved taste (and my love of cooking) had either a Nimbus or a Phenix built a few years prior ;)

@Neal We toured that coach back in November when we did a factory tour with Dave & Nancy K led by Tyle Fore. He said it was custom ordered but the buyer backed out.

The nice thing about Foretravel is if you have the money they will build you a coach anyway you want it! Just takes time and money. :)

We have a Formica counter top in our forty year old house.  The interior of the IH reminds me of that.  Don't think I would go for an IH even if I had the money.

We so thoroughly our 21 year old FT that the idea of a change to a $1.2 million target for the uninsured motorist just does not appeal. >:D

I have said it many times myself.....IH is not for me, too tall and to techy.....not even counting the money, which I could not afford anyway.  With all the new coaches out there, I still get more comments on my '93 GV U300 than any coach in any park I go to. No one believes its a '93....but I have had it painted and maintained well......good enough for me and a lot less money!!!!

Funny how things change . It wasn't that long ago that I thought all the new bus looking Foretravels were just too darn pricy and was suprised that they sold . My at that time new U-300 was really high tech and I was sure it was a rocket ship of sorts .Then along came our 2003 , 320 , yep more bells and whistles , but some how it all fits together just fine . I guess my point is , how about 20 years from now , when our grand children will be driving these old IH coaches and looking at some of these older models and thinking , " boy those old timers had it rough "  Ha , just my thoughts and smiling . Like I said things change . Now then , what will be the new stuff then ??? ;)      Brad Metzger
