Body damage

I had a little miss hap while pulling away from the dump this afternoon at my storage lot.  As I was pulling away from the dump I have to make a sharp left turn in order to get lined up to pull into my spot.  As I made this turn with the tag razed my rear end swung around and clipped a pole.  It took off my right rear radiator door/cover.  So with my tail tucked tightly between my legs I ask, is this something I can get from FOT?  The good news is the hinge is completely intact, so there is only a small gouge just aft of the door itself.  I plan to get the work done locally here in Arizona, but if I could get the door shipped as one piece that would make things much easier.

Dave you might take a look at some of the RV salvage yards. I can't remember which on but one of them recently had 2 or 3 F/T's that they where parting out. I'm sure someone on the forum knows of them.

David, Foretravel can make the part for you.  They seem to have all the molds for the Unicoaches at least and their prices aren't bad.  Bear in mind it will be a plain gelcoated part, paint if any is another issue.  Looks like the grill part is in ok shape so that's lucky.  It may also be possible to have the part repaired at a good boat repair place that works with fiberglass.

If you could post some pics of the damage, a close up I could tell if I thought it could be repaired or not.. I do a lot of glass work on boats...and things. Be happy to give you my 2cents worth...

Dave,
Maybe give Jim Stallings at Xtreme a call and get his take on it. Possibly ship the pieces to them and get returned a completed and maybe painted piece. If it's fiberglass, it can be repaired. I see no problem repairing that piece, just make sure that the corners will get some additional reinforcement.
good luck,

I would assume, the 2004 grille is totally different from the 2001 and earlier grilles, I have the 2001, and it is not mounted on a hindge like the later models are, Just my guess.  Agree on Xtreme, James and Rance will have the best solution other than FOT molding a new one $$ ??

This is a VERY good reason to load up the coach and drive to Nac!!

I agree with Carol but if not have a new one made up but you will have to bring the coach to have it painted.

Thanks all, sorry I haven't been on here for a couple of days.  I called FOT today and they say they can get me the fiberglass frame for $975.  I'll have to give them some VIN info so they can look up the color code.  The price quoted is not for paint, but I think this is most likely the way I'll go.  I think I can use the aluminum grill part, and it's all held together with rivets.  So I think I can handle that part.  I'll have to have the other gouges taken care of by a fiberglass shop here in AZ.  That is unless once I get the painted door/cover on if gouges are not too noticeable/hideous I may just wait until I get back to Nac next fall.  We'll see how it goes.
