Hello

Just bought a 2007 Nimbus  Foretravel and new to this forum. I hope I am in the right thread for this, if not I am sure someone will let me know. Anyway I am looking forward to reading and learning from those of you who will share your knowledge and experiences. This is our first motorhome so we really don't know what to expect yet. We have traveled with an F350 and a fifth wheel for over twenty years so we are not new to camping. Anyway I will mostly sit back and listen to what you folks have to say before getting too much involve in posting.

Welcome to the Foretravel family and the forum.  You are going to have questions so do not worry about posting them.  Look at the different boards and the discussion and technical are for our coaches the others are for other conversations.  You will love traveling in the coach and the ease of set up and and getting going after those years in a 5th wheel.

Welcome! We have a 2007 Phenix. Very similar to yours. We had ours built and still love it! Any questions let me know!

Welcome and enjoy the new coach.  Just somethings are so nice about traveling in our Foretravels.  Simple rest stops, where you have everything we need within a few feet.  We love the simple set up, one button leveling, having hot water, and a cool interior when we arrive at the end of the day as well.

Richard, I read all the posts on Old Fella, cried buckets, (happy & sad!)...took me weeks, off & on, to get thru it all but what a great story. All your other fur kids that came after Old Fella were also a big part of filling our hearts....I thought I recognized your "handle". How wonderful you've joined the FT family, welcome to you all, what dogs have you now? (Been so busy with my coach, haven't checked into any other forums for awhile.)

If I recall correctly, y'all are somewhere in the Carolinas? I spend the summers in Hendersonville, NC so hopefully we can connect down that way, or up your way....also fellow forum members Jeff & Sandy are in Boone & are huge animal lovers & advocates for adopting strays. A very warm welcome to you, you did well in buying a Foretravel. Best made coach on the planet!  ^.^d

We live just outside Greenville, SC.  We still have Suzie, Peaches and added Hobo and her Mama. Mama went to Rainbow bridge over a year ago. miss her greatly. While we were in Sevierville, Tennessee for the Old Fella Rally a Yellow Lab took up at the house and waited on us to come home. This was so strange because we had never seen this dog before but he acted as if he has known us all of his life. He is about a year old, beautiful dog and very smart. We did all the usual things in trying to find the owner, but no one has turned up. Meanwhile he has made himself at home with us and is digging his way into our hearts.

The Nimbus is a new adventure for us. We had been talking about motorhomes for  over a year. We went to the dealer close to Knoxville to buy some lights for the awning on our fiver and Sue saw the Foretravel and that was it. So far we love it, great value for what we paid for it. I lost sight in my left eye and I felt Sue needed to be able to drive whatever we owned and she was not comfortable driving the F350 pulling the 38 foot fifth wheel so we looked at motorhomes. Finding the Foretravel Nimbus was really great and they traded in our truck and camper which made the purchase easy. The bedroom slide has an issue they they promised to repair and ordered a relay to repair the problem and we are supposed to take it back on the 17th to have it installed.

Anytime any of you would like to visit we have a pad in the back with full hookup service. water, electric and sewer. Come and stay to see the beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.  There  are two acres of land so you won't bother a soul.

Apply at FOT if you haven't already for your free membership (1 year) in Motorcade club. Ladies driving school sponsored by club comes highly recommended

Richard, there are at least 3 more FT's right in your area, 2 are members here: Doug Self, (about 50 miles west I think, forgot the name of the town) & Hans & Marjet (between Landrum & Greer) ....also Lyn & Mae Whitaker are in the Greer area, they're very involved with the FT Motorcade Club...if you haven't joined the Motorcade Club yet, I suggest you call Beverly at FT & sign up, your 1st year is free & they'll put you in the local chapter, either Mid Atlantic or South Central.

Also ask Beverly about signing Sue up for the annual ladies; driving school, though it's in Nacogdoches, TX, it actually started today, it's wonderful fun for the men too, just a long trip for you all with the fur kids....I can certainly give her some tips & perhaps even some lessons, not that I'm a pro but have put about 8,000+ miles on my coach in the past year and a half. I'll be back up there in spring, there are chapter rallies in Bedford, VA in April then Stone Mountain, GA also in April. Hope you all can make it to one!

Also there are some wonderful forum folks in Flat Rock, (Hendersonville) Richard & Susan, (their handle on the forum is LookingWest) ...also new to FT's & full timers, Susan actually currently works in Greenville.

Welcome neighbor! We joined the FT ownership club in June...found our coach here on this wonderful forum. We live in Boone, not too far from you.

My wife and I retired up here a few years ago and ended up buying a pet store in town. If you need anything for your pups or your organization just give us a shout. We love supporting rescue organizations.

We support them with money, food, treats and toys. We also provide all of the area's working dogs (PD and Sheriff's Department) with food at no cost.
