Dash Air Condenser Fan

Should the condenser fan be running anytime the dash ac is selected?

Yes,  I had an issue , FOT had a tech fix it in about 15 minutes, of course he kew the area to get into, problem was a quick connector had worked off, he solved that issue long term with a Ty-Rap.  Had to remove the BCM and Smart Wheel controller, as mentioned he was not a trainee.
Why I go to Nac for most issues, cheaper than being educated by idiots.

The condenser fans should come on when the compressor is engaged.  If the fans do not come on when the compressor is engaged the high side pressure can become extremely high and the high limit switch will cycle off the compressor.

I don't know the specific answer to the original question. I don't know if the compressor/condenser run continuously or are designed to cycle for temperature control.

I agree with the statement that the condenser fan should run if the compressor clutch is engaged and the compressor is operating.

We lost cooling from the dash air on a hot summer day about a year ago. I found that a plug had come loose from one of the pressure switches near the compressor. Replugged it and all has worked well since. My recollection is that it did not come all the way off, but loosened enough to open the circuit for the condenser fan.
