Black tank gate valve location 2002 U320?

Wondering where the Black tank gate valve is.  I have found the gray tank gate valve -  located below the Maniblock behind the door.  My RED light stays on even when the gate valve is closed on the black tank.  Have used vegetable oil to lubricate the valve.  Thoughts??

I think on our 40' 2002 it is behind the panel next to the water pump.  The gray is on the opposite side behind the sewer connection.  Future project is a 3rd valve on the sewer connection.  I sure like the electric valves but dread when they give trouble.

On my 2002 U320 40 ft., the gray valve is behind  the water manifold on the right side of the coach and the black valve is on the left side, behind the panel where you wash you hands. and yes I installed a third valve at the end of the pipe where you hook up sewer hose. Hope this helps

Thanks for your comments.

I was afraid that that valve would be behind the panel.  I would like to put a third valve on but the ABS pipe comes out of the panel and takes a tight Right 90 degree turn.  I think I would have to remove the panel and recreate/redesign it.  ARGH.  Not sure that I'm ready for that project.  Yet.  Gate valve still works.

Hi Scott,

Design and use of a third sewer valve probably varies for each coach. On my 2002 42' I did not cutoff the larger factory Valterra connector in order to add a fixed Thetford connector - though, see below, that may have been better way to go overall. I was able to add a third valve by using a Thetford hose adaptor then use Thetford connectors and hoses, etc.:

Valterra T05-2285VP Thetford to Valterra Universal Adapter : Amazon.com :

I used roughly a one foot long piece (compressed) of pre-made hose (or make your own short hose with Thetford couplers) to extend to an in line, suspended third valve.

When traveling the third valve and hose stay attached and is stored on the floor lip ahead of the little exit door - a pretty tight fit. When connected to a park sewer system for use, the above the addition of the adaptor causes a tight bend for this short hose to exit the coach through the small bottom door. I usually just let it hang outward with the compartment door open while draining the tanks then put it away.

Thanks Jim-  Would love to see your set up.  Could you take a pic and post it some time?  I already use that adapter, I think, cause I use a clear 90 deg. elbow before it attaches to the waste hose.  That way I can see what is coming out.

Many of us have added the  third valve and converted to the Valterra type fittings.  You can find the thread with pictures here:  Third dump valve on an '02-'04 generation coach?

Thanks for the link Pat.  I have seen that thread and all of the pics show the drain coming straight out of the bay.  Mine take a sharp 90 deg turn right and there is no way to attach the fitting without taking off the panel covering the tank and stuff.  Have been watching the third valve threads and have seen none that match our configuration.
