9 pin engine diagnostics connector

does a 1994 you 280 have the 9 pin connector for engine diagnostics

No, you should have a mechanical engine, not the electronic  controlled engine

So no connection for the vm spec folks talk about.
It has ab audit system. Does that provide engine monitoring

There is also another type connector on my 1993 U300 with 6V92
It is a straight 9 pin, Told by Silverlight that it was an Allison proprietary connector and they could not mate up to it.

Jim Shepherd (303.478.3501 ) matched it up and had it installed on the JIB.
Now have VMSpc with most PID's
1993 U300, 6v92

All this discussion made me curious, so I looked under the dash. I found a connector with a cap on it that said "Diagnostic Connector." I pulled the cap off, and found a flat arrangement, two horizontal rows of six each. In the glove box was an adapter that has 12 flat pins (two rows of six) on one end and what looks like a serial port on the other end. Slots on the adapter seem to match up with the diagnostic connector, except that it looks like the diagnostic connector wants round pins and this adapter has flat pins.

Pin arrangement is:
x o o x o o
o o o o x o

where x is not used.

If I get the Silverlight software and a suitable netbook, will I, too, be able to learn all sorts of wonderful information about my engine?

I am sure someone will chime in but I am reasonably sure you cannot use them on the "mechanical " engines only computorized.
