It's pretty much a ghost town.

We are looking at Fort Wilderness in Oct after the national Good Sam's Rally in Atlanta.  Just always thought it was booked and expensive.  We are looking at the KOA outside as it seems close and less dollars.  DAN

Dan, you are also getting the transportation and free parking and getting in early and ease of being on site.  Itis not cheap but we did not drive for a week and there were huge traffic issues including a marathon I might go in Oct myself.

Hey Steve, wish we were, but currently at home in Debary. Going to the "Redneck Mecca" Wekiva Falls next for Labor Day. Y'all should come on over lots of "local flavor", cool spring water, pool DJ on the weekends.

Yes, Ft. Wilderness is pricey, but we really like it there. So, we treat ourselves to a week there every year during the less expensive months. As John S. says, if you utilize all the free transportation, you hardly need a toad. We too, have stayed at the KOA (Ft. Summit), and it is not exactly cheap, nor is it very near anything.

OK if we can get in there you have talked me into it.  Not sure what days yet but if there are spots available we will be there in late Oct.  DAN

My general plan includes Ft Wilderness after the bus gang hoe down at Arcadia, that way arriving Jan 1st when the terrorists / tourists have departed from the holiday season, that is when my son has a chance of taking a day or so off. Have been thru the park many tines, so will rent a cart and explore around the area. One of my favorites is to see what is happening at the Epcot area. Since the kid works there (25 yrs.) it is free except the CG.

Dan, you may be fine during the week, but the weekends around Halloween get crazy, and the decorations are even crazier.

The RV decorations have gotten SO out of hand, that at check-in, they gave us a full page checklist of no-no's regarding decorations.

When at Disney, just remember
"If you leave with any cash remaining and your credit cards not maxed out, Disney has failed."
per the kid.
