Freedom 25 Settings

I've got the original Heart Freedom 25 in my 95. I am replacing the present gels with AGMs (Concorde). The Heart Interface control gizmo has only four possible charging scenarios (warm & cool gel and warm and cool wet cell). Warm is defined as 80 degrees and cool as below 80 degrees.

The new batteries call for the following absorption and float voltages:
At 80 degrees, 14.27, 13.25
At 60 degrees, 14.56, 13.54

The nearest setting of the Heart seems to be cool wet which is 14.4, 13.5 so that's where I just set it using the dip switches on the back of the unit.

Anyone else using the old Freedom 25 or similar charger on AGMs? If so, what settings are you using? I'd hate to get rid of it as it works fine. Thanks.

I have a Prosine and solar. I use solar for charging and have the same batteries. I would say that those settings are darn close enough for me, but I would also use de-sulphators on each one as Wyatt and I do. I believe in them till proven wrong.

We have the Freedom 25 with Link 2000 controller. The numbers I see on the control panel are pretty much what you are seeing. Our "Power House" brand AGM house batteries are five years old and seem to be in good shape. Consider my response to be anecdotal rather than expert. We try to learn about the details and follow good practices, but mostly try to enjoy to coach and the advantages it affords.

Jor,
I talked to a Lifeline tec person about the same issue when I changed to AGM's.
He said to use the wet cell settings, changing spring and fall to the cool and warm settings.

My coach came from the factory with the Heart Freedom 25 and AGM's.  It is set wet/cool and for 18 years has worked fine.  Batteries seem to last about 7-9 years on this coach.

BTW  I have a NOS Heart Freedom 25 for sale.  When mine was acting up I bought this one for a spare and of course since it is setting in the bay the original has been working fine. :)) Go figure.

Thanks to all. I'll stick with the cool wet for now.
