Leak in small, but significant radiator hose

While having some other work done on our engine (ISL400) in Nac, the mechanic noticed signs of a leak in the short hose that connects the radiator to the aluminum pipe that runs up to the top of the engine.  See the pics below.  We had him replace it which required draining quite a bit of radiator fluid, but we were able to reuse it.  We used Bernd Ramspeck since FOT was booked.  He said he has seen this hose go bad on a number of FT coaches.  Bernd, by all reports, is an excellent diesel mechanic and also does other work such as replacing airbags.  I was impressed.  Pat found a reference to him on one of the Newell forums.

He is in the process of moved his shop to a location on east Main in Nacogdoches.  James Stallings also recommends him.  Another option for mechanical work!
