Need Used Storage Bay Latches For '92 Grand Villa Anniversary Edition

Looking for 2-3 USED storage bay latches...

I have a 1992 40' Foretravel MH (Anniversary Edition) that now has a broken storage bay latch.  I am searching for used handles (TriMark  Part number is 11738-04) that will work as a replacements. 

This is a TriMark Door Handle/Latch (010-0600 Flush Mounted Pop-up T-Handle | TriMark Corporation) aka (1992 Foretravel Specifications) and see attached pictures that I took along with descriptive info below.

(1) It is a locking handle..see first attachment.

(2) To open your turn clockwise

(3) 90 degree turn to open

(4) Drive bar is threaded...see first attachment (IMAG0138)


Finally, look at the second attachment (IMAG0137) and you will see the problem.  The outer cylinder which the handle fits into has broken and I have the handle, broken parts (pieces of broken cylinder, springs, etc) in an envelope. I need the complete handle assembly which would be both attachment two & three (IMAG0139 & IMAG0137) below, to include gaskets.

I would buy 2-3 so I would have replacements.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, to include any salvage yards which would have this item.  I have contacted a couple of salvage yards by searching the Net, but have had no luck.  I am prepared to buy these new at TriMark if need be.

Not completely sure but they look just like the handles and latches on my '95 U320.

You could call James at Xtreme Paint & Graphics as he may have some take-offs.

Those appear to be the same as the ones on my 95 U280.  They can get STICKY if not kept clean and lubed.  I use a dry silicon spray.
I suspect that FT will still stock these and if not TriMark will be your best bet.  I have also seen these used on National Brand MH's.
One thing you can do is swap the bad one with a little used door til you can get it fixed.  It may be the key will be upside down when swapped but that's no big deal.
Foe used Handles try Colaws Salvage in Carthage , MO , they have about everything.

Looks like Rick beat me to it....
I've had a couple handles break (fractured small internal parts).  I've purchased whole new handles from from McMaster-Carr (item 1638A11, at about $36/each).  I reused "T" part of the old lock so I could still use the same key.  The new keyed units don't even use the same key blank.  I believe to actually remove the cylinder you have to have a special master key that releases an internal catch - I would assume only OEM's and maybe locksmiths might have these.  I also had to re-used the 5/16" bolt on the back because the new unit didn't fit the old paw piece.  One thing I have not seen available new is the cam levers at the end of the doors - not even new versions.  These make the doors a "3 point" latch system which works quite well to hold the door shut against the seal.  I also, while the handles were off, repainted them and they look like new.  I even tried the chrome look on one by stripping it down, sanding and buffing out the aluminum but it just didn't look right so I went back to black paint.

Thanks to all for the responses.  I have read up on a lot of repairs on this forum and it has been quite helpful.  Regarding my latches, I exhausted all the suggestions, Colaws does not have the item and they referred me to azrvinc.com and I am awaiting a reply. McMaster-Carr is now $42.36/ea.  TriMark Part number is 11738-04 and price is 45.40 each, so I am going to buy two to get to the $100 minimum.  I will first wait a few hours to hear back from from azrvinc.com or anyone in this forum that may have further suggestions and/or spare handles to sell.

BTW..

Jim at Xtreme Painting is also going to reply with another after-market manufacturer. So, I still have a couple options open.  Right now, it will be hard to beat TriMark pricing and I will need no modifications.  I will wait a few hours before calling in my order just in case something materializes.

I got mine on e-bay for $20 apiece but a quick search didn't come up with anything less then $45. :(

Thanks...I just ordered two (2) from TriMark for $96 delivered.  Time is money and I a mechanical dummy (not as resourceful as you) so my truck repair friend will be doing the install/replacement.  I am really impressed with this forum and have saved time and money by researching here.

With that said, I am an entrepreneur and if younger would consider buying the $20 item, doing the retrofit and sell a BUNCH at a discount, but Nah...I am RETIRED!

BTW..if you contact TriMark for parts , ask for ANN..  She is a rare find these days.  If I still had my company, I would try to hire her.
