electric water hose reel, leak

There is a water leak inside the spool of my electric water hose reel. Is there any way to get to this without removing the reel?

The Glendenning water hose reel on our 03 also started leaking, so I took it out and took it apart and found to have a bad o ring. Replaced the o ring and reinstalled and no more leaks. so think you will have to remove it, not a big deal

Be VERY careful with a water leak in the wet bay or just forward of it.  That water gets into the rear beam area.

Same for too small a washers under the bottom of the basement to spread the load of the reels-- breaks the FG and allow water in from under the coach.  Solution if that area is cracked is to buy some aluminum plate and drill a hole in the middle.  Use the place as washers to spread the load.  Use a sealant to waterproof (after drying of course).

Brett. thanks. I have some help coming tomorrow. Sure hope we have no deeper problems, this leak has been there a while, I'm afraid. Fortunately we have had the water hooked up for only a few days (just on the road, after a long sabbatical).

Today, removed the Hosemaster water reel and attached a new 35 foot hose, tightened all fittings, etc. and put it back together. It still leaked. Checked out the "Owners Manual" in the white box looking for a clue. No help! Checked Glendinning website, guess what? No parts available for hose replacement! They do sell, at a very reasonable price, a complete reel-hose assembly. Now that I know how to remove and replace the unit, it shouldn't be too hard to put the new "assembly" in when it arrives. Did not like the jury rigged hose attachment, anyway.

The hose-reel assembly arrived and today a local commercial appliance repairman who happened to be available installed it for me. I am glad that I didn't attack it myself, whew! Anyway, it is in, it works and there is no leak that we can see. Now I have to disconnect as we are expecting frost soon, need to get down south ASAP.
