Utility Bay Faucet- is it needed?

I was wondering if that faucet is really necessary. I have just made a couple of trips and I have not needed the faucet. As part of my utility bay upgrade, I was thinking of removing it and just installing a cold water hose bib in its place. I guess it (the faucet) could be rigged up to use as an outside shower if needed. In my earlier hippie days taking a shower outside was fun; now, not so much. I would hate to scare all of the little forest animals. lol
What do ya'll use your's for??

We do mostly recreational camping. Very often if not always we do most of the cooking outside. Use that faucet to clean utensils, dishes, pans, etc. We also use it when dumping to wash hands etc. My advice would be to not remove that faucet.

When camping, as already mentioned, great for cleaning up after cooking.  Even better, is cleaning up after maintenace and not "soiling" basins inside.  andy1

PS: Many years ago, I moved the holder to just inside the rear wheel fender so the spray--while washing and rinsing--stays out of bay.

I use mine all the time. It's perfect for filling a 5 gal bucket. I say keep it.

I really like to have mine.  The FT people were so smart in providing a wash hand station with water, soap dispenser, and paper towel holder for the person draining the black and grey water tanks.  Love it, don't think I will remove.  Have to love FT, wanted a new soap dispenser bottle as mine had cracked (I guess from age), they had in stock shipped and just like new again.

It is great for cleaning up the dog and cleaning other items.  Great to have the hot water so after a dump even with gloves nice place to wash your hands before getting behind the wheel.  DAN

During our inaugural run with our U320 we blew a coolant hose.  We managed to save a lot of the antifreeze but not all.  Hooked up an extra hose to the outside faucet and filled the radiator till full again.  Worked awesome...would never take it out.

I use it to wash the front.  Hot water helps melt the bugs off.

I've seen some with spray hoses attached, seems like a good idea for clean ups at that bay. But like John, I get some warm water there in a bucket soon after we stop for the day an go after the bugs before they petrify.

Jor--It was the slide-in holder, white, two screws.  Mounted just at the stretched reach of the hose high in fender well of rear wheel.  Washed out grease and oil from hair when bent over and using shampoo and TWO hands.  This repositioning required making a large hook to coil the hose on in the bay and mount that on the wall for storage.  Do you need a photo?  It is 10F outside this morning. andy1

I use mine all the time. Wash hands, fill buckets etc. I wouldn't remove it.
You can get attachments with hose and shower head that can be temporarily attached to the faucet.
I use it some times to wash dogs.

All this talk got me to stop yesterday and buy a new soap unit for the one missing in my bay.  Next will be the upgrade to a hose end quick release and then an outside hanging mount for the shower head.  As some might say, "better than a pocket on a shirt".

Has anyone installed a faucet in a GV that does not already have one?

Nope, too much work for me, so I just upgraded to a U295 because I wanted a faucet so bad.
