I always understood the O in the beginning was for Oshkosh chassis. The 300 number would be for the load, i.e. 30,000 capacity.
There are "U" for unihome and unicoach, and GV for Grand Villa, structure style. In later years, maybe into 1993 Foretravel was still buying and building Oshkosk O series coaches on those purchased Oshkosk frames.
Another difference is the Oshkosh cargo doors are bottom hinged with locks at the top of the doors. Unihome doors are top hinged and bottom of door locks.
Hope I am correct, as there are lots of small differences in models, years and frames or structure. Still miss my GV styling, and tambor cabinet doors.
