International Motorade President

Does anyone know anything about how the Foretravel Motorcade International Presidents are
Nominated ?
Elected?
Responsibilities?
Perq's/Benefits?

Since my membership in 2003 they have all done an excellent job at representing us and in supporting the various chapters of the club.  However,  they seem to just appear out of nowhere with no clue as to the path to their escalation to this position.

comment?

It is a process and there is a group of three or four past presidents who will call the person who they want to be the next president.  If they accept  then it is a russian election and the board of directors is presented one candidate and they vote. It is usually unanimous too.  The president must be a prior chapter president and has gone on one motorcade.

Perqs are not what they used to be. It used to be you got one motorcade but no longer. I think they will get a reduced service shop rate since they are traveling for the  club but I do not know that for sure as stuff changes over the years.

So, the only benefit is you get to get into the GV a day early and not pay for it. That is about it.

They do it because they love the club and the people in it.  It's an excuse to go to a lot of rallies/motorcades at their own expense.

It is definitely a labor of love.
