Front clearance lights out.

Took FT for state inspection today, all looked good till the inspector looked at front clearance lights. Rear and side lights working fine, all five on the front are out. Looking at the wireing drawing both front and rear are fed from same term on the relay. If some one knows how the wireing from relay to overhead is routed, sure would help.

We had a similar problem and now look at our lights before going to Texas inspection shop.

You may find power at the lights sockets. Bulbs may be burned out or more likely not making a good contact in a corroded socket. Remove bulbs and spray some vinegar in the socket and later put bulbs back in place. (Jim, a fellow Foretraveler just told us about the vinegar trick).

I replaced mine with led lights. The are truck lite brand.

While it could be bad bulbs or poor connections, it is hard to believe all 5 have this problem.  But that is still the place to start.  You might get lucky.

All or LED's and there is no voltage on the buss that feed the front lights. There is voltage on the common terminal of the relay, so losing it somewhere before/or after that wire ties to the buss for front lights. Don't know route of that wire yet, hope to find that today.

David,

Not sure on your 96, but on my 98 there is a wire chase and lots of them in it, that go up the driver's side windshield post area.  I had the cover off to run my audio feeds from the dash to the Bose and noticed lots of coach wires bundled together.

Not sure if the front lights are on their own circuit breaker.  But many of then are self resetting, or have a tiny little button on the side of the rectangle body.  Some members have suggested using a popcycle stick to push the button back in.

I was saying as long as you are looking into it and removing stuff you should make the switch to LED.
