water inlet connection

The freshwater inlet connection, can it be pulled apart to install a new washer, Mine is kaput,

And for the love of it, I cant see how it comes apart, or how to get the one way valve out of it,

And I cant find it on the search line,

Here is a replacement inlet check valve from Camping World, the first thing Google found with a
"rv water inlet valve" search.

Here is another solution, could be added to the outside of the wall mounted part you have now.

In-Line Check Valve, RVH2O - KwikLink

On my U225, 93 model there was enough slack in the plumbing line to pull the wall fitting out enough, and install the new one, without taking the wall apart.  Same on my newer 98 U295.

That Valterra Water Inlet has a built in check valve.

Pat, I believe Dave was only mentioning that second screw in one as  a option to being able to take the original out. Screw this one into the old one and you have a working check valve again.!

John read between the lines correctly.  I should have put things in a different order.  But yes, the second link is to what would be an "external" one way valve.

Thank you for that info, I have found an inline check valve from a common 1/2 inch garden water hose in Brass, $7-00,

 I still dont know how to pull the one on the Coach apart, It must be a swaged or press fit of some kind,

I will just leave it there and fit the check valve into the line behind it,

Hey, Brian, take a piccy of yours and it might be just stuck in with some mastic putty tape along with the screws.

Update on the fitting, I Bought a new one way check valve, $7-90 in brass, Just an ordinary water hose fitting,
Its great, Got it home and just stuck it on the end of the line inside the cover plate on the coach,

Bright spark didnt measure it did he, hahaha  I have it all assembled together, and pushed it back into the hole, All siliconed up and ready to screw it back in place, All Finished, Duhhhhh, Its too long, It hits the woodwork inside the Coach,

Ah Well, I Cant win them all, Hahahaha,

So if I take the old fitting off the line, it will fit nicely, Cover plate I need, It wont come off the fitting, Back to square one, How do I get this thing apart,

Stick it in the Vice, Cut the swaged end with my 5 inch grinder, cut slots all round it, then I hammered the cut bits off with a punch, A bit at a time, Till it was all off,
Magic, The cover plate is undamaged and falls off the fitting,
Just as an exercise, How do I get the plunger out, It looks like the plunger is a post sticking through the square Retainer,
A bolt and a whack with the hammer, and it has moved down the shaft, It now comes out, its all in my hand removed from the fitting,
The rubber O ring has dislodged from the shaft at the rear, so no seal, I didnt need a new one way valve, Just an O ring,
I have one sitting on my bench in a big bottle of them,

Not ever seeing one of these before, and not knowing it had an O ring in it, i thought the seal came from the plastic end of the plunger just sitting on a clean surface,
I cant see the O ring in there,
Too late now, The old one is wrecked,
So I find another ferule to go on the end of the screwed pipe and a quick fit Hose fitting, screwed up, They hold the face plate in position tightly,
And it does fit in the hole now, hahahahahaha,
So its already to go back in, in the morning if its stopped raining,

So there it is Folks, just push the pin from the outside, Hard and it will fall to pieces, replace the O ring and push it back together, Its fixed for another 25 years, Ten cent O ring,

 you will have to take the cover plate off the coach and undo the piping behind the cover plate, Other wise you will lose the plunger and spring down the pipe,
Thats not some thing you want to happen,  But it needs to come apart to replace the O ring in it,
 
So simple, It hurts, Hahaha

The O ring can be hooked out with a wire with a small U shaped bend in it, Then its just a matter of slipping a new one over the stopper,
Its preferable to pull the plunger apart, as if you push the O ring in too far, it slides down the tapered plunger and wont work,

Thats what had happened to mine, It had slipped down the plunger, There is only a very small groove that The O ring  sits in,

I hope this lesson in Extreme Advanced Technology helps some one, Hahahaha, I just had to do it the hard way, Hahahaha,

Its the first work thing I have done in about 3 weeks, Been too sore, I dropped my bike at 30 kays and smacked straight into the ground, I near didnt survive that one, I have a broken bone in my shoulder, Torn muscles in my chest and gravel Rash on both knees, and on the top of my shoulder, All down to the bone,
I landed on my shoulder and side of my head. I nearly broke my neck, A few Kays faster, and I wouldnt be here,
Yes, I will ride again, Its an Addiction for me, Hahahaha

Brian, Thanks for the word on the fitting.  KISS usually works for me AFTER I have screwed it up.
Sorry to hear about your attempt at killing yourself, hope you heal quickly and that the bike can be fixed.
