Galveston to Rockport to Corpus

I wanted to let everyone know that if you are planning a trip to the Texas Gulf Coast you might want to reconsider. We just returned from the area and were amazed at the seaweed that is on the beaches. The seaweed makes it impossible to enjoy the beach. It was 4 ft. high in some areas and is continuous with more rolling in every day. I think the main city beaches will probably get cleaned up but the others Padre & Mustang Islands) are a big mess.
Forget about surf fishing.

I live in Galveston and there is a lot of stuff (seaweed) on the seashore right now.  I think probably more than I have ever seen in my 30 years here.  They do clean the beaches pretty much daily on the main areas.  I'm not sure how it affects the fishing.  I used to do some off shore fishing and loved seeing a weed patch as there were usually fish around same.  I expect this will be gone in about a month.  I really don't go to the beach much as I burn too easily.  That northern European heritage! Best to all.

Come on down to Galveston!  It's still a great place to be, seaweed notwithstanding!
