Auto leveling

Just recently our coach sits slightly lower on drivers side after auto leveling , used to sit true level as measured on counter top and "feel"
Any adjustment or checks I can make ?

On my coach the sensor is located under the bottom draw in the kitchen (take out draws).  It is adjustable for level.  Never had to do it.  Can't see why it would go out of adjustment though.

Have added a photo of the sensor.  Adjust by screwing the screws in and out.

In a 2003, the leveling sensor is a printed circuit board mounted inside one of the clear plastic HWH boxes in the lower bay.  It's possible it loosened or was bumped if you were working in that bay at all.

I will dig around our photos and see if I have one of the level sensor.

I know the clear boxes your talking about and not touched anything that I can remember , but a photo would help me locate it and check it's mountings .
As always thanks for your help

Jimmy,

Check this thread by Jim McNeece.  He posted a photo of the sensor

Hi Jimmy -

We have a 2002 with a round disk mounted to the floor under the drawer under the range that can be used to adjust level.  It is about 3" in diameter and can be adjusted through turning 4 screws.  There have been a number of threads here that discuss the process.  Seems to me I remember that it is adjustable to +/- 2%.  Our coach also leans a bit left, (large slide side).  I have thought about adjusting it but have not done so yet.  I believe that there is a replacement from HWH that is more sensitive and expensive.  Ours is not tilting to the point that forces me to do something about it.  ;D

Leveled coach manually and have two yellow lights on touch panel , went into bay and found sensor mounted on aluminuim angle bar and adjuster on exterior of box .
I can see yellow light on sensor but can't work out which one it is ?
Do I remove plexiglass and circuit board to check ?

Ours is older style, but principle is similar. I leveled coach with bubble levels, then "bracketed" between positions that caused amber lights to illuminate on touch panel. I adjusted a screw in one direction to illuminate a light, then adjusted to illuminate "opposite" light. I set screw half way between. Did a couple of iterations of side to side level and front to back level.

"Old" style has three screws, so there is some interaction between front/back and side/side.

It helps to have two people to adjust our system, one watches lights and the other adjusts sensor. The newer system may allow one person if there are local lights near the sensor.

Jimmy, go to BEAMALARM.COM, the RV TECHNICIAL HELP tab and it describes the adjustment process.  Our coach also leans to street side a little ... I just haven't got around to it yet.  I have read the process and it sounds simple enough.  Good luck!

Posted earlier and will see if I can recall pretty much....

Our coach leaned a bit low to passenger side.  I wanted to lean low on driver side.  On the 2001 there is the disk affair with screws under drawer. Takes two people to do, instructions on HWH site but gather beamalarm too, how to adjust to change what it thinks is level, to make lean.  Got it done.

I thought about changing to the newer HWH system monitor device but heard they had to change due to mercury, not that it better.  That right?  Anyway heard the price and some technicians recommended I stay with what I have, not due to price alone.

Hope this helps if coach leans a bit too much or to wring side...may be able to change easy enough.

The problem is that the circuit board is mounted within the plexiglass box on an aluminuim bracket , the board is mounted high within the box so I am unable to "look down" on the LEDs and work out the adjustment needed .
Do I remove the plexiglas cover and use a mirror to identify the LEDs ??

Can you get a partner to watch the touch pad while you make adjustments? Use radios or cell phones to communicate. The partner watches the lights on the pad while you twist knobs in the basement. Manually put the coach in the attitude you want and the adjust the aluminum bracket until your partner says the amber lamps are all dark.

Hadn't considered that the touch pad lights could be used for adjustments

Just for the record, and to further emphasis that they all seem to be different, My level is located right behind the drivers seat under the J lounger.

If you have an iPhone with the latest iOS check out the compass that comes with it.  Once it calibrates lay the iPhone on the kitchen counter and swipe from right to left.  A round circle shows up.  If the surface the iPhone is resting on the circle will be white and the screen will be green and it will read 0°.  If it is not level the screen will be black, there will be two overlapping circles and the way they are misaligned shows the direction of the slope and the number will read the number of degrees from level.

My display agrees with the HWH display. I prefer to have the coach lean a degree or two toward the driver's side and will adjust it that way and then shut off the level system.  It seems to stay where I left it for several days.  One side in the sun will lift that side a bit during the day.

FYI.  The HWH level sensor is supposed to be set up so that the freezer shelves are dead level, since the fridge is the most sensitive component in the coach to being out of level.

At my age I seem to be leaning a bit more than before.  After five days working at Habitat for Humanity this week framing six new homes all I am thinking about tonight is horizontal.

My visual level sensor in the coach is the refrigerator door.  If it stays where you let go of it then the hinge line has to be plumb.
