Towing a 2014 Jetta with DSG tranny

We are on the verge of driving 6 hrs to purchase our new to us first and hopefully last Foretravel U280 40' and now realize that flat footed towing our Jetta is not an option. :-( Never had much luck backing a loaded tow dolly and wanted to see if a reverse friendly tow dolly existed? Anyone out there aware of such an animal? Any input would be much appreciated!!!!                                                          Thanks, Tom

We have a HDXL with a switch for backing, it helps BUT still not like a fixed wheel trailer.

We opted to installing a receiver class 2 on our towed works much better.

Nope.

Shouldn't back up 4 down either. Great way to tweak the arms on your tow bar.

I just sold my 07 Tahoe and picked up a nice 10 month old tow dolly with surge brake, LED tail lights (Master Tow) garage kept for $1K cash. It will tow my FWD 2010 MKZ just fine, surge brakes are no drama, no tail light mods, no baseplate....

I towed with a dolly for 4 years no problems, mainly my 2004 Jetta TDI Avant.

Craigslist - Master Tow with surge brakes. New about $17-1800.00

When you strap down, drive half a mile or so with a few turns then re-tighten. Then drive 30-50 miles and re-tighten. If straps are new check at 20-25 miles two or three times for more peace of mind. New straps are like rubber bands.
