Connectors to fuel filter

When I changed the fuel filter on the road yesterday I noticed no connector in the water sensor.  Found the connector hanging from the harness and also another connector. Any idea where the second connector goes?

I am thinking it might have been for optional fuel heater.  It has been coile up and ty-rapped

Yours is 6 years newer but I have a connector to a fuel purge in that area.

Looking at your picture, is the round one the one in question?

Not a problem, but if was coiled up most likely it was not needed on your application, just a guess.  Unless you see something  that it would plug into just an extra.
