Re: Parker HTFL-8B Fuel hose.. Reply #25 – August 25, 2014, 12:14:20 am Roger et al, when I do (which now looks like I do not need too-hopefully) the lines I will be doing so on the outside of underbelly, not thru' the basement upper cowlings. I do not see the need to go thru all that work just for fuel lines. The previous owner has strung a sch40 3/4 plastic pipe under there at least 5 yrs ago(for wiring from front to back- I do not think he knew about the spare wires already put in by FT) and it is not protected and has never been hit or?. I plan to run the line in a sch40 pipe and run this pipe inside a alum channel which is bolted to the underside thereby having double protection should the coach bottom out. The tank is next to front bulkhead panneling so I figure a curved elbow from top of tank to a vertical pce of pipe then into another 90 deg curved elbow to tight under fibbreglass sheeting then thru pvc pipe to filter location. This pipe is also inside the channel running the full length of underbelly then up thru' another 90 deg elbow to filter. I will leave the return line alone as it is free flowing back to tank. The channel will have pieces welded to it at every cross frame tubing (Or as many as necessary) so lots of support for it. This will be easy to do from under coach with Pit.The genset lines will be a piece of cake to do again because of Pit and I have already figured that one out before. We are going to change the carpet for something else in living area so cutting it up does not bother me. When I do this hole in floor if I find the fuel line is not showing any cracks or whatever, I may not even bother with the previous comments but simply tape up the ends and fittings with "Rescue tape"I have used this tape to fix pressure lines and water ones in a Prevost along with a hydraulic brake line and all where fine till able to replace so have lots of faith in it.JohnH Quote Selected
Re: Parker HTFL-8B Fuel hose.. Reply #26 – August 25, 2014, 10:24:26 am I have the capabilities to tackle this but I would need a friendly place to do this work, a place to drain diesel to and at least another person to help. I was wondering if anyone anywhere in the country would want to swap services. I help you tackle yours and vice versa. We do both coaches at the same time. We pump diesel from my tank to yours in order to get the tank out and vice versa. I believe my generator fuel line has already been replaced so I would only be doing the engine lines (I think). I feel like I'm going to have this issue because I already know I have a hole in the line between the primary and secondary fuel filter. This would probably be sometime in the next 2 months or so we are going to be all over the place so we could probably meet anyone anywhere, especially florida would be good later on. You'd basically have to provide me a place to park for the duration though obviously. I'd be happy to help with anything else you might want to hit along the way too like coolant hoses. Though the rubber ones that connect to the transmission cooler heat exchanger are the worst thing ever.In the mean time I'm going to buy some of that silicone repair tape and remain hopeful. Re: Parker HTFL-8B Fuel hose.. Reply #28 – August 25, 2014, 11:09:00 pm Yep I did know but thanks anyway.I would pull the pipe thru each piece first then glue together as I go. Did this with the 6/3 wire when I installed the outside 30amp plug for guests in driveway. That was 100' long and was easy doing it this way.JohnH Quote Selected
