Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #4 – August 18, 2014, 08:07:42 am They sold my coach for me but I think every transaction is different. Depends on the market and their supply chain. They do I think like to make at least $4000 on the deal. Not sure what the current rate is. Good luck. They do move a lot of coaches plus FOT told me they only wanted late year coaches to sell. Mot is the place to sell Foretravels as they have a big following. Quote Selected
Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #5 – August 18, 2014, 03:10:29 pm I think no one can know what a sale fee is because every deal is different. They know that some coaches will sell quickly and others take time. The more they have to do to get ready may make a difference also. Just have to make your own deal, but they are the best place to sell your coach. They sold one for me and the best thing was it was quick and it was sold and I was not a two coach owner for long. All sales are different. DAN Quote Selected
Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #6 – August 18, 2014, 03:58:10 pm Generally 10%, or 6% if you are buying a replacement coach from them , with a minimum fee (last quoted at $3,500) Quote Selected

If I were operating that type of business, I suspect I'd need to charge about that amount to cover my costs and make a reasonable profit. Quote Selected
Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #9 – August 18, 2014, 08:38:00 pm combined with the fact that MOT or FT will command a higher sale price, the NET cost to use one of them is less, plus no scammers, etc.Only starts to be an issue on coaches with valuations below $25,000, as a percent of value Quote Selected

Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #12 – August 18, 2014, 11:27:58 pm Exactly. Remember I sales managed a factory store from 86-89. Did not consigne any coaches. Traded in yes. But Foretravel had enough cash flow to buy trades then. My limit without asking was nominally $75 in the 80's but I went to $135k a few times without asking. Floyd at Nac liked my results. Left me alone. He got paid on the profits. Another guy got paid on units. Gave a few coaches away to help the other one literally. Versus cost. Quote Selected

Re: MOT consignment fee Reply #14 – August 19, 2014, 09:48:13 pm MOT agreement says 10% but there is a minimum;; uncertain what that is. Spoke with Tyle at FOT the other day and he stated also 10% with a minimum of $10,000 whichever is greater. Motorhome specialists get 6%, don't know their minimum but most likely will have one as I'm sure the 3 cos. are aware of their arrangements with consignment customers. Quote Selected

The minimum commission was $3,000 plus a $500 listing fee. I might add that the SOB sold in three days. Quote Selected
