Tag Axle Air Bag Part Number

Hello all,

What I originally thought was a leaking travel height valve turned out to be a leaking tag axle air bag.  It seems to be leaking from right between the bead and the bag at the top.  Sometimes I can get it to seal (if I raise the coach high and then lower it, sometimes it seals).  We were in a parking lot and the rear had to pump high.  We felt a shifting and that's when the problems begin.  Now when we can get it to seal it is fine the entire drive.  When it is not sealed the rear right corner sags.

I could try to fix it but we might as well just replace.  Does anyone know the part # of the tag axle air bag on this?  I can't see the data plate but it says it's ridewell and it's a 1999 non-lifting tag.  The tag can dump only.  I have two spares but the tag bags look different from the other bags.

Seems we have a ridewell RIA-207 just like the 2003 Lifting tag axle.  Not sure if the bags are any different.  We're going to buy more safety blocks, get the rear end lifted and take a look tomorrow.

FOT changed mine when we bought the coach 3 years ago. I raised the coach fully and found tears toward the top attach point. Geometry isn't right so the air springs are not compressed straight rather in an arc. Tag bags are not going to last as long as the coach bags. I thought I recorded the number but my notes aren't specific. The bag number may be 1R11-039 and I believe they are Goodyear. I'm not positive this is correct but think it is.
Changing the tag bags is a pain. Getting them from FOT is the safe option but a bit more expensive. I had a problem with a fitting air leak and changed the quick connect air fitting to compression, they were a pain to reach.

That is the same Goodyear airbag our 2003 was built with, according to our "Component List and Serial Numbers" document.  FOT replaced ours this spring; receipt doesn't show a part number, but we remember they are definitely Goodyear and not Firestone.  They were $100-ish more per bag than the Firestones used on the other positions.

I would definitely verify the P/N with FOT, though.

Our tag uses ridewell bag #1003589378C which xref's to Goodyear 1R11-202.  Slightly less expensive than the other bags for me.  Wish me luck getting them in and out!

I went to harbor freight and got 2 more "safety stands".  I took off the height adjusting valve cover before realizing the bar could fit on the other side.  The side with the dead tag bag was sagging so I had to put a bottle jack in place to raise it enough to put the 12" steel tubes in.  Once in I got under and took a look.  19mm nuts all around.  Awkward angle but plenty of clearance and I could sit up on my butt on either side of the bag.  I broke all of the nuts loose.  They were not tight at all.  If anyone has any suggestions on dealing with the air line, I would appreciate them, unless they also come apart like butter.

The bag is not rotten or torn in any way.  It looks like for whatever reason the bead came loose and it has been sealing and resealing time and time again until finally it pinched the bead and bent it.  I could probably fix the existing bag but murphy is telling  me to just replace it.  Pics attached.

Anyone know how hard it is to replace just hte beadplate/bellows.  They are quoting 3-4 weeks from goodyear as this is a special built part.  I believe they just rotate the bottom and there was another post indicating that but I can't find it.

EDIT I just gave up and ordered from FOT.  It's more expensive but they have them and at least I can get moving ;)

Part came and is installed.  The one that came is an outdated replaced part, 1R11-080.  It looks in good enough shape though.  The last nut/stud that I downplayed?  Holy moly what a pain in the butt!  Very very difficult to get the compression fitting separated as the air line wanted to spin with the nut.  Then once it was out I found the whole fitting was bent so I trip to Lowes was required.  When I got back I found the top stud and air inlet were bent just far enough to not fit into the top plate so I had to use some pretty dramatic effort to bend it enough to fit it in.  Once both the top nuts were threaded there was no way I was getting the bottom in without a bottle jack jacking up the tag wheel.

All in all, a pretty major effort, 6 horus.  More than I was hoping ;)
