Silverleaf VMSpc PID

My sniffer sniffed these PIDs.  Anyone know what they are?

192 Multisection Parameter

194 Transmitter System Diagnostic

Hello Mike

Loose interpretation:

192 is part of a normal preamble...the series of "Tell Me something Normal and I'll give you a code (relating to it.") codes

and

194 is part of that normal broadcast codeing. Read more here: http://www.simmasoftware.com/j1587-introduction.pdf and here J1587 Introduction

Think of them as housekeeping. Nothing more.

Sorry Art, but I have to disagree with your comment "Think of them as housekeeping. Nothing more."

In the case of PID 194 (Transmitter System Diagnostic Code and Occurrence Count Table), it is used to provide the diagnostic codes for a transmitting device that is having problems.  For example, when I monitor messages sent by my WABCO ABS I get a 194 PID that, when decoded, tells me that the right rear wheel speed sensor has an open circuit.

PID 192 allows a device on the J1587 to send a longer than normal data message.  I have seen cases where a device has more diagnostic codes than can be sent in a normal J1587 command is sent as a 192 PID or a series of 192 PID's.
