An idea

"I wish I would have found this site when we first purchased the coach." This quote is from another thread, but it struck me that maybe it is something that we all could work on. I don't pretend to have a full plan, but maybe others can help out.

Many of us have business cards that says "retired" and our names. Perhaps on the next reorder we can add a line for
Foretravel Owner's Forum -- ForeForums and when we meet someone with a Foretravel we can ask them if they are on the forum. If not, give them a card and point out the site.

When selling a coach we should make sure that the new owners know about the forum. Obviously if you sell your coach to someone who found it on this forum they know about it, but if the buyer comes from somewhere else we should tell them. I wonder if FOT, MOT, and PPL would let those who are consigning their coaches include a reference to the forum. Obviously, a trade-in situation is different in that the seller no longer owns the coach, but I would think that FOT and MOT would want to support the forum, at least to the point of letting buyers of Foretravels know about the forum, since that would increase customer satisfaction.

Perhaps others have different ideas, and I'm sure that many have better ideas, but this is a nudge to get us all to spread the word.

Hi David,
All good ideas. I think the big boys, FOT/MOT, would make use of this forum, as a sales tool. Maybe it's a legal thing with them. Anyway, all good thoughts.

I have heard that FOT and MOT at least monitor the forum, even if they don't often post, so maybe someone there will pick up on this and come up with a better idea.

Several of us are also relatively active on other forums. I know Dave and I are on the SKP forum. I have mentioned FTs advertised here on that forum form time to time when it seemed appropriate.

But it's possible that the restrictions on guest users on this forum could be presenting some issues that make it difficult for unregistered users (and possibly search bots) to see the classified ads. At least if there are the same restrictions on the "Classified" forum as there are on the others (unregistered users cannot read past a few lines of a posting).

I wonder of those restrictions could be eased on the Classified forum. That could get photos and comments out to more readers.

Keeping unregistered users and search bots from harvesting members' e-mails and phone numbers is exactly why we limit what guests can see, and the classified ads are the posts most likely to contain that information.  We take privacy very seriously on the forum.  We actually hesitated to even have a classifieds section for several reasons, privacy being one of them.
