Zip Dee patio awning lock broken
If your big Zip Dee patio awning won't lock or unlock you may have a broken part inside the "Z-Lock", which is replaceable. Find your local Zip Dee dealer and order the Z-Lock, which in my case was part #201600 ($69) and have them install it if you want (20 minutes labor for two men) or you can install it yourself if you're brave. Instructions are included with the new part. You'll need to drill out the old rivets, replace the part, and rivet the end of the awning back on again. It's easier if you have someone to hold stuff together for you.

If you're in Maine your only Zip Dee dealer is Mountain Road RV in Sabattus (207) 375-4091, which is where I got my awning fixed today.
