What Fluid Should Be Used In Aqua-Hot Coolant?

When Rudy serviced mine a couple of weeks ago he said distiller water and anti freeze, 50/50 mix

I Spoke with a CS at Aqua-Hot last week and was told if it is Camco (pink in color) distilled water 50/50.  If it is Century ( green in color) it is already pre mixed.  When I called we spoke about my model number 920431/432.

My 1999, U320 AquaHot used the same antifreeze as the engine radiator. I think it was some time later that concern arose about possible cross contamination of the fresh water system. It was then that specs changed and a GRAS type (drinkable) antifreeze solution became necessary.
I have no idea if the older units should be purged or not. (nor how to do it, if so)

Oh so many opinions, gets confusing I guess.  my over fill jug has a Shell ELC stcker attached, that is what I have been using rarely as needed.
So many opinions, could give one a head ache if taken serious.

Older units use engine antifreeze cut 50/50 with distilled water.  Those heaters have the fresh water coil wrapped outside of tank so no contamination with antifreeze worries.

Newer heaters have fresh water coil inside of tank so GRAS is needed.  Camco pink is cut 50/50 with distiled water.

Have not seen any Foretravels using green Century coolant which is ready to use.

Green Century and pink Camco are NOT mixable.

Hey Rudy, what is an older unit?  Guess mine is.....a 2001?  I just use as said above in this thread, the same as in the radiator....per MOT.  Like Dave though, cannot recall having to add in the 2.5 years we have had Gus.

So....is 2001 older?  When was the change over Rudy in the coil design, do you know?

Mine is an 01 and I use the same as the engine.

I think it was changed to Camco in 2003. My coach was the prototype and Camco was not used but was used after that on 2003 models.

The change to GRAS occured with the addition of the electronic control board around 2003.

No board = engine coolant.  Control Board = GRAS Coolant = Camco Boiler Fluid ( pink).

Our 03 still has the aqua hot with the external water heater lines, but came from Foretravel with the camco coolant so you have to look at the reservoir to see what the label says
