Microphor is Gone

I'm not happy. Our coach flooded for the last time. First the vacuum breaker was  leaking every flush. So it was getting the floor and all of the electric parts wet. Rebuilt. Got the floor dry.Then I come in the next day and the middle of the coach is swimming and smells like pee. Water valve is running none stop. Luckily I had dumped the day before. Found timer was scalping for water all the time, it would reset Yea cled the switch on off. Wet vac and several words and and several beers later I'm a little calmer. We decide to leave the switch off while waiting on very expensive timer. Last night DW uses the toilet in the middle of the night. Water valve hangs open and we wake to another lake.

    Early in the morning wet vac running no coffee yet lots of nice words I decide a mechanical toilet is going in. I pulled the microphor out no wax seal. Now I no where the smell comes from while traveling or fan on high. All of the carpet is now in the dumpster. I guess it will be time to tile after she drys completely. I will
Admit the microphor looked fancier BUT to many parts to fail, and you rebuild it every year flapper and vacuum breaker. To much up keep. I now step on the pedal all drops very fast release and it seals back. Yea

yup I feel for you!!! I had the same thing happen to us in our Bus I did get it fixed but I never trusted it again. So I sold the bus lol.

Just a couple of thoughts, won't help you with the Microphor but may help in the future. I don't know if you were hooked to park water, we always run off our water tank, never from an outside never ending source. We always tun off the water pump when we leave the coach and we also turn off the watef pump when we go to bed. Running off your own water tank and turning your pump off can save you from a lot "water events". Don't ask me how I learned these lessons you will hear never ending stores, water is my nemesis.

Roland - Sorry to hear about your challenges.  I have replaced the water solenoid and the cam gear so far.  What did you replace the Microphor with?  Hope ya'll are doing well.  ;D

Scaott, my water challenges began in our S & B and continue to remind me to "pay attention". We replaced the cam and the controller, I also replaced the internal piping with PEX and sharkbite fittigs. Couldn't get a good seal with the old flexible stuff that was in there. PO  solved the problem by placing a little plastic container under the dripping connection.

We are great, I think. On our way to our annual physicals to find out if we are as well as we think we are. :D

We replaced ours with a Dometic (Sealand Traveler) TRVLR510 with sprayer. Also bought the floor flange. Total with shipping from PPL was about $300.

I enjoyed removing the Microphor. Took it out and beat it to death with a sledge hammer. Sent the internals to a forum member determined to keep his going (presumably).

We copy Roland's water damage control system. Except we don't turn off water pump when we are inside, but we do have a small piezoelectric speaker that sounds off whenever water pump is running,

We also have many inexpensive Harbor Freight water alarms in different places, including two in toilet area. Water can do terrible damage in stick homes and RVs.

Adding water pump switches in other convenient places in our motorhome helps. Our bath and sewer bay did not have switches, but now they do, along with a switch by front door.

Scott we will be at the Quartzite gathering in the desert. Come join us. Barry when in the coach we only turn the watwr pump off when we go to bed.
