Safe replacement

I have a Grand Villa 1995 U240 which had a safe installed in the floor. I had to destroy the top of the safe to obtain its contents.  I had contacted the safe manufacturer and Foretravel and they did not have the combination on file so I had to destroy the safe opening top.  Now I have a large box in the floor.

I want to replace the safe and I would ask for help to identify how the prior safe was installed and how to replace the safe.

I suspect that your only recourse will be to Call FT and speak with James, I really doubt that you will be able to find an exact replacement for a 20 year old safe.  Too bad, those are nice safe's.

Not having a GV here to look at it I would figure it is dropped into that frame from inside, bolted down then the solid foam insulation glued to outer walls. Should be easy to figure out I would imagine.

Might be worth a try shopping at Costco or BJ's or Sam's club;  they all carry an assortment of box safes (Sentry, etc) ;  might be to fit it in the hole  with minimum mods..
