Girard anemometer

My anemometer is missing one cup.  I picked up a replacement anemometer at FOT last week and I started to install the new one  today.  I used a voltmeter to check the polarity of the wiring since the wires on the new one are different colors.  I discovered the voltage to be 22VDC.  What gives? The manual says there is to be 12VDC supplied to the anemometer. Anyone have any suggestions?  I don't want to damage the new anemometer, so I didn't just switch them.  I have found nothing online so far.

Steve,
If I had measured 22 volts dc, I would first check the voltmeter settings and make sure ground connections are good.  If settings and ground connections ok, I would call Girard and ask tech support for help.  I have found them very helpful in the past.  Good Luck!

I am hoping the voltage is high because the voltage floats without the anemometer connected. Waiting for them to wake up this am.

Found out I didn't need to worry about voltage.  Foretravel sold me the wrong anemometer.  They asked me if mine had cops or vanes and I told them cups.  Apparently my cup one had been superseded to a vane one years ago. The new one with cups is for the newest systems with G-link.  Wrong one on way back to FOT and correct one on way.  Glad I checked before I connected anything.
